Conditions of Use

Please note the following terms apply to goods sold by The Home Shop Catalogue Ltd to consumers for their own personal use.

Order Processing

If you place your order after 3pm on Mon-Thur, it will not be processed until the following day. If your order is placed after 3pm on a Friday, processing will not happen until the Monday, or Tuesday if Monday is a bank holiday.

If you require your order by a particular date please enter this in the comments box during checkout so that we can ensure delivery is met.

Delivery Schedule

We aim to send your order to you in the time frame stated on the separate product pages, however delivery times can vary and we will keep you up to date with the progress of your order. We agree to deliver within 30 days of the order being placed at the latest unless we have agreed a shorter delivery time with you, or noted that there may be a longer delivery time due to an item having to be specially made or not a stock item.

Orders are shipped on a working day (Mon-Fri) as soon as possible, excluding Christmas and UK bank holidays.


Depending on the product we use 1st Class Post, 2nd Class Post, Recorded Delivery, Special Delivery and various couriers. Again depending on the product we may use an alternative method.

PLEASE NOTE: Shipping prices are for UK Mainland only. Exclusions include Northern Island, Republic of Ireland, Scottish Highlands and UK Islands. If your address is excluded from standard delivery, please contact us for prices and options.


We ship all orders in good strong packaging.

Damaged & Faulty Items

Unavoidably, a small percentage of parcels get damaged due to the handling during delivery. Please contact us within 48 hours of delivery if an item is delivered damaged. We will then arrange for a replacement to be dispatched. In certain cases the original item will need to be collected, this will happen 1-2 days after contacting us. Delivery of the replacement item and collection of the original item will not happen at the same time.

If an item becomes faulty, or if you feel the item is not fit for purpose or as described on our website or sales literature, please contact our office as soon as possible. We may need to inspect the item to determine the reason for any fault/breakage, this can take up to three weeks. If the inspection concludes that the breakage/fault is due to a manufacturing error and that the item as sold was not of satisfactory quality, then a repair, replacement or refund will be offered. This will not be done until the inspection is complete. If a manufacturing fault is not found to be the cause, the item will be returned as it is. We will not repair, refund or replace in the event of negligence or damage caused by the customer or in cases of normal wear and tear.

If an item becomes faulty after the customer has had considerable use of the product, this will be taken into account in any remedy offered. For your peace of mind, please keep a copy of your proof of purchase.

Lost items

Very few parcels go astray. However, missing items are inevitable sometimes. If your item gets lost in the post, we will replace this free of charge.


You normally have the right under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations to return the goods to us for a full refund for any reason, providing you notify us in writing - via post or email - within 7 days, beginning the day after receiving the goods. There are some exceptions to these Regulations, please see below for details.

It is your responsibility to ensure that returned item(s) reach us unused and in the same condition as they were received, and in all original packaging. You must also meet all costs of returning the items.

Please ensure that you return the items exactly as you have received them i.e. in the original packaging sealed with clear tape. If you are returning the items via a Courier or Royal Mail, please make sure that the items are in an outer box or a jiffy bag. (THERE MUST BE NO WRITING OR LABELS ON THE ORIGINAL PACKAGING).

Where you have failed to take reasonable care of the goods, Homeshop Catalogue Ltd. reserves the right to withhold a reasonable amount from the refund to cover any loss. We do NOT accept liability for the transit of returned goods and therefore suggest that you take out carrier insurance.

We will provide you with a full refund within 30 days of receiving the goods back unused and in the same condition as they were sent out.

Exceptions to Return Policy

We do not accept returns on goods which have been personalised or made to the customers own specifications, unless the item is faulty, not fit for purpose or has been misdescribed by us.

We do not accept returns on goods which are perishable.

We do not refund on services provided (such as training courses) once the service has begun. We consider the service to have begun as soon as course materials are sent out.

Tax Charge

Products offered by Homeshop Catalogue Ltd. For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 20% VAT is added.

Credit Card Security

When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

The Home Shop Catalogue Ltd., accepts all the major cards except American Express.
